Tom Petty had a good point about college: “The work never ends, but college does.” And hey, isn’t that what reunions are for? Come back to the College for a weekend, relive some great memories, and make new ones. Cindy Barrow Kuliga ’63 does just that every year.
Julie Jordan ‘08 interviewed Cindy, who returns to campus every May for Reunion about why the event is so much fun.
Why do you come back for reunion?
“I really come to reunion because it’s FUN - FUN - FUN!!”
What would you tell people to encourage them to come to reunions?
“Reunion is a great opportunity to reminisce, connect with old friends and make new ones, catch up on all the great happenings on campus, brag about the main squeezes, kids and grandkids, and generally relax and be entertained.”
What is the experience of going to a reunion like?
“Best of all, reunion is a chance to remind yourself how you got where you are - it was hard work but it started you on your way - and did a good job, too”
What memories does being back on campus bring back?
“Memories abound and grow when someone else says, ‘Remember?’”
When you see old friends and classmates, is it like being back in college?
“It isn’t JUST like being back in college - you take on a type of ‘superior senior attitude’ - been there, done that, survived and prospered. You knew me then, but how do you like me now that I know it all and run the world!”
“Hope to see you at this year’s reunion! Look for us! We’re usually the group that is loud and party minded.”
This year, reunion is set for May 18-20. Catch up with your classmates and see what’s new around town and on campus. Join the fun and parade down Church Street led by a bagpiper, take a trolley car tour of North Adams, attend the Athletic Hall of Fame induction & dinner, and go to the Fiesta Party. And there’s much more in store this year.
Check your mail! A brochure about reunion was recently mailed to you. You can also visit the website at www.mcla.edu/alumni/reunion.

Doug and Dave: Let’s start planning our big 30th in 2008!
P.S. Our Amish friend, Charlotte, will need a ride again.
