The photography of Jane Hudson is on view at the North Adams Public Library from May 16th through the end of June. Hudson and her husband, Jeff, moved to North Adams in the fall of 2005 and have been video and film artists, musicians, teachers, and recently purchased North Adams Antiques at 49 Main Street in the city. The Music Department at Drury High School will present the instrumental portion of its Annual Spring Concert on Thursday, May 17th. The concert will feature instrumental performing groups and the marching unit’s Band Front. The concert will take place in the Drury High School Auditorium at 7:00 PM. The instrumental portion of the program, under the direction of Mr. Carl Jenkins, will feature the jazz combo and high school concert band. Band front is under the direction of Mrs. Diane Burdick. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.

The 2007 Northern Berkshire Relay for Life will be held from Friday, May 18th at 6:00 PM to Saturday, May 19th at 12:00 PM at the Noel Field Athletic Complex. Survivor Registration begins on 3:00 PM on Friday. The Relay for Life begins with the Survivor Lap at 6:00 PM. Luminary Ceremony begins at 9:00 PM, also on Friday. Teams begin setting up at 12:00 on Friday. There will be a lot of children’s events, and everyone is urged not to miss the “Mr. and Mrs. Relay Contest” at Midnight Friday, or the “Breakfast Bingo at 5:00 AM on Saturday. The North Adams Garden Club will hold its annual plant sale on Saturday, May 19, 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM at 107 Main St. in North Adams. Call 664.7568 with any questions.
Northern Berkshire Creative Arts hosts its regular “Family Art Day” Saturday, May 19, from 1:00 – 3:00 PM. Tuition is free, but registration is required. This class is designed as a family activity. Each class will explore a different medium and parents will work alongside their children for a fun, special time together. The NBCA is located in the Heritage State Park at the corner of State and Furnace Streets. The NBCA’s family art day is held the third Saturday of every month. The Eve Sonneman exhibition opens on Saturday, May 19 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Brill Gallery, studio 109 in the Eclipse Mill, 243 Union Street in North Adams. Please stop by to meet the artist and enjoy some wine. The Eclipse Mill Gallery and Grover Askin’s Bookshop with lots of arts related books will be open those hours as well.
