Midnight Madness was unbelievable!! Freshman, sophomores, juniors and seniors represented their classes to the fullest. The seniors kicked butt against the freshman in a tug-a-war. A junior hit a half-court shot, the sophomores won the obstacle course, and the freshmen were right there in every competition.
The women’s basketball team shot the rock. The Lady-Blazers displayed their shooting skills by quickly hitting a mind-blowing 79 out of 100 three-point shots. Their Coach is very excited and is striving to win their conference this year.
The men’s basketball team has undergone a makeover this year, starting with new Head Coach Jamie Morrison. Coach Morrison came all the way from Kansas to lead our Trailblazers into battle. On the court, there were twenty-two men dressed to compete against one another. From the depth that the men showed, there is no way they’ll lose if it comes down to having bodies to play in the game. Coach Morrison was pleased with the crowd and felt that if the crowds continued into the season, a Trailblazers home will be a very tough place to play.
Both Women’s and Men’s Basketball gave thanks for the student body supporting them, and we wish them the best of luck as they continue to work hard. GO TRAILBLAZERS!!!!
Diante Ellis is a senior at MCLA majoring in Sociology and Social Work. Diante is also a starting forward for the men’s basketball team.
