The people were wonderful, the sights breathtaking and the overall sensation of being in Italy was amazing. I don’t speak the language but I found myself eager to learn and able to converse with the natives at least a little bit. I’m not a student, but a former MCLA staff person, and went to Italy with the travel course. The students were just wonderful, as were Graziana and Emilia. Their knowledge of the language was invaluable.
Of the places we visited, Assissi and Florence were my favs; while the Vatican was aesthetically alluring, Assissi was spiritually inspiring. Florence had the best food and cappucino. Rome had great gelato and fountains at Villa D’Este-Tivoli. Venice is like nowhere else I’ve seen.
Everyone should visit Italia!
